A proposal for project logos:

I like the Wiki and RPM logos, but I think that the project's logo should be more explicit,
ie we should see the project name.
I also thought about using gears to represent something that we add and remove easily ...

I'm playing with something like:

I made a ScalableVectorGraphics? file from the Illustrator one, so that we can generate it easily (for instance, we could add a date, a "fortune" thing, adapt the colors to the stylesheet and UI parameters, and all those sorts of goodies that ScalableVectorGraphics? allows us.) Until now I didn't have a very good success with BatikSVGRasterizer?, but I think that this could be implemented.

We could also have one template for the plugins, and make a new one simply with a property (the plugin name). We would then simply need to update one logo to have each plugin's logo updated. Wow !

I think that feature would be useful - at least for projects having many subprojects like maven-plugins or Maven :-) I guess it could end up in a LogoPlugin? or should it be called a Svg2LogoPlugin? --JornH

Maybe something like:

One thing I would like to experiment is to have changing logos. Those could be used one after the other, or randomly. Anyone could post logo proposals, and they would be included in the chain of logos that appear on the top... One example of that is Google. They change their logo very often, adapt them to events like Olympic Games, football, Xmas, etc. Would be cool if we had things like that (adapt it to new technologies, new taglibs, new plugins, etc.)! ScalableVectorGraphics? and logo generation allow that, IMO, and I might try some of this sometime ...
